From: His Sovereignty Judicator of Rubacava
To: The Society back home

My friends... I bring you most distressing news. Our invincible Rubacavan Army has suffered it's first defeat in the Northern Territories. The last remnants of our troops, 4 Champions garrisoned inside a Capped Ram and a Bombarder Cannoneer, help me make the long trek across the desert back to Rubacava. The First University of Rubacava is reduced to ashes, while the rest of our once glorious fort lies a burning ruin. The remainder of the Rubacavan Army is buried underneath the cold, thick snow.

I remember trebuchet-ing the bombard tower I mentioned earlier. This prompted Saint Faucet to raid my fair city. But this, like Gray Fox's earlier attempts, failed as my defenses crushed their feeble attempt.

But then, Gray Fox attacked my walls with explosives - and brought them down. Legions of cavalry marched into Rubacava. The Rubacavan Army's 80th, 87th and 93rd regiments fought off the invading forces with tremendous courage, despite them being horribly outnumbered. I requested some help from Saint Faucet, who was raided by Gray Fox on many occasions before. His forces helped what was left of the 93rd regiment fend off the invaders. But by then, over half the Rubacavan Army was defeated and half the settlement was burning in flames. The First Univeristy of Rubacava was hit first and fell to the invading Roman forces.

Saint Faucet and I planned to seige Gray Fox's stronghold. So I took whatever was left of the Rubacavan Army and marched for Gray Fox's towering castle. All this was in vain, however. Saint Faucet's troops were diverted by Gray Fox's troops, and the remainder of the Army was brutally slaughtered, still determined to fight for their humble little port town.

This also prompted Gray Fox to beseige my humble city. In the interest of all those who still lived in the provinces, I threw in the towel and gathered all the caravans for the long journey home. I did not dare look back and see my beloved fort burn to the ground.

I am writing this while aboard a caravan in the desert and will send it to you via carrier pigeon. Saint Faucet and Gray Fox are most likely still battling over the dark, cold Northern Territories. I've left behind a note, telling them to leave the Second University of Rubacava standing... to remember all those who fought bravely for our town.

I must say, to defeat Rubacava, Gray Fox is a worthy opponent. I salute him, and wish him luck in his future campaigns... if they don't involve Rubacava. I also salute Saint Faucet, a most helpful ally, who I feel deeply regretful of leaving behind to fend off Gray Fox on his own. I also with him luck in fending off Gray Fox.

I shall arrive in Rubacava in about a week. Please break the news to the people gently... they will surely be crippled by the news. Until then, this is Judicator, Commander-In-Chief of the Rubacavan Armed Forces. See you then.

---END OF MESSAGE---
