Subject: Having played FFVII the first...

FFVII really hit me. Games come and go in liking. Some even stick around in your head and you think to yourself years from then, "Whatever happened to that game I loved playing?" some don't. FFVII was the first real RPG I had ever played, especially of the epic/fantasy genre, and when I unfurled bit by bit, I was literally hooked into the game. I'd never played anything so immersive and articulately detailed. The characters just blew me away, their depth and their stories. All it took were subtle words to get accross what kind of emotion they felt. The big parts in the game had me linked by the heart to the monitor and I found myself frequently playing until 3-4 am just so I could see what happened next.

When the pillar fell, I looked on astonished and angered by President Shinra.

When Aeris was killed, I was open-jawed with awe.

When Tifa and Cloud were discovering his past, I couldn't scrape my retinas off the screen and my pulse was racing.

When Cloud finally confronted The Sephiroth, I was almost scared to think what might happen.

In short, FFVII tapped into me what a real game should be like, so involving you forget about woes and worries of life and delve into a world of higher cause and mystery.

:)
