In reply to: It's only October and already "crunch time", wow. 's message, "If I read the Miss NJ website correctly it appears that by the end of this month we will already have 18 contestants crowned for June. Some locals don't have dates listed, so who knows if they will occur and a few of the remaining ones are regional, closed or have the stipulation of being new to the system. These next couple of pageants could prove crucial to both newbies and returnees alike." on 09:54:31 10/12/13 Sat

After a year at the state pageant she was much more confident and poised, she carried herself better and understood how to handle some difficult situations. So while newbies are nice, the young ladies with some experience also help the newbies along and give them something to strive for. What makes this system great, is the mix of young ladies that we draw in. Some small local pageants have a contestant that has no idea what she is getting herself into while, larger open pageants draw the contestants with some time under their belt.
