Subject: I'll be honest - my first orientation was the most unwelcoming and least favorite experience during my time of competing (which actually says a lot about how great the Miss NJ group is, because it wasn't that terrible). The veteran girls were busy taking pictures together & talking about previous jokes, the newbies clung to their directors, and it was over all - a weird "air" (which I noticed my 2nd time around, too). Now I'm not trying to bash anyone, or the org - just explaining what I felt (and some other newbies felt the same way).

[> [> [> [> [> Subject: I can see orientation being a nervous uncomfortable time for a lot of our girls. NEWS FLASH!!!! IF YOU WIN MISS NJ EXPECT MORE OF THE SAME!!! with the pageant two to three months after Miss NJ and it back in Jersey (FINALLY) you're going to be put in some nervous uncomfortable situations. If you cant handle them now how will you handle them then?

at least you've met the current miss nj class at locals, events or even competed against them. at miss america you're not going to know any of these girls at all.

[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: At Miss America everyone is on the same level. Some of the girls know each other through experiences, but as a whole most people are placed into a position in which they know no one. At Miss NJ, some of the girls have known each other for years. Its entirely something different.
