Take you meat, beef, venison, lamb or whatever. Brown it in a hot pan in a small amount of oil. Then add some water if you going to cook it in the same pan add about 6 cups of water if not add a couple or 3 cups and stir it around until you get all the nice brown stuff off the bottom of the pan. Then dump it all into a crockpot or big pot. Add 1 package of Liptons dry onion soup. Bring this to a boil and let it start cooking.
Cut up and add carrots, celery, onions or use little onions and just peal them, rudabegga (if you like them) or any other veggies you would like in your stew(the amount depends on the size of the pot you are cooking it in).
If you put the potato in at the beginning they will be turned to mush by the time the the meat is tender so if you can remember or are that energetic let it cook for awhile before adding the potato's as they only take about 1/2 to 1 hr to cook depending how big they are and what you are cooking it in. Check occasionally to make sure water doesn't all boil out. Taste it and then add salt and pepper to taste.
YOu can always get the handy dandy box of Bisquik out and make dumplings (directions on the box) and put on top of your stew also! Or make bisquits. Easier than making real bread or having to go to town to buy bread!
