She watches the others carefully, then turns to Shuth. The blue nudges her roughly -- mostly with excitement.

"Well," she says, securing the straps. "Should I climb on?"

Yes, and hurry up. The others are far ahead.

Katinka smiles gaily. "But of course you'll be the best, right?"

I wouldn't say *that* exactly.... Impatience tinges his tone.

She takes the hint and swings herself lightly on, stepping first on his bent knee to his back. She settles her self tightly in the riding straps and taps his neck gently to get his attention.

"Jerk left then right, dear one." He proceeds to do so, with a bit more vigor than needed. Her bronze flit clinging to the jacket, she manages to barely stay on. With a laugh she gives his wing a scratch. "Enthusiastic, aren't we?"

Can we go flying now?

Again she laughs. "Fine, just only to that mark." She directs his mind to the red cliff mark. The dragon doesn't reply, just does it.

Then she finds herself five feet in the air, the air slashing her face as Shuth beats his wings vigerously.

"Gently!" She says mentally to the blue. "There is no need to be so hard on yourself."

Oh. More than a bit embarressed, the dragon slows his wing beats as he reaches the mark. Hovering for a second or so, he then glides lazily down to land as delicately as possible on the ground.

Resisting the wild urge to hug him, she smiles instead.

"Well done!" Alonso chirps his agreement.
