Sorry for being blunt but until the last breath leaves my body, I will work relentlessly against Canada *ever* having its own monarchy. It's bad enough that we inherited a monarchial system that's always been in place but to suggest that once we finally rid ourselves of it we then replace it with one based here is obscene.

Monarchism is elitist, unjust and undemocratic, characteristics it seems more and more Canadians (and for that matter, British) are beginning to become aware of. For the good of Canada, I sincerely hope that this concept never makes it beyond the warped minds of a few members of the tabloid-hungry fringe.
