The programmer designs on Dave2's page are Scenix (SX) programmers.

Sounds like you want a PIC programmer. There are lots of different designs available on the net.

If you built a 3Chip board, then the only design with programmer is Dan's Experimental board. The programmer is only for Scenix chips.

I did not design any of these circuits. My contributions to the project have been a PCB layout for Canton's Rev 4.2 and a layout for Canton Rev 5 (to be released soon).
