I've been reading about closed captioning and the info on line 21 of my video signal is closed captioning info.

If there is no info on line 18 how does the cable box know how to descramble. In my system they use random inv video and audio privacy. Also sync supression or attenuation I'm not so sure (never been able to lock on scrambled video signal with the oscilloscope).
