Let me first say I appreciate your pain for this young boy and his family.

To be of much help I would first need to know if we are talking about Christians or not. For if we are the details of church discipline are clearly outlined in Scripture and you would need to take the necissary steps toward reconcilation. It would also be inportant to deal directly with the parties invovled so as not to fall into the trap of gossip. Avoid spending any amount of time talking details with anyone not willing to confront the situation in love and directly with the family.

If you are talking about a young man who is not saved then reaching him with the love of Christ is you task.

Keep the prayer fire burning. The Holy Spirit will teach you all you need to know and bring into your situation others who can deal with the youth directly and in Christ's love.
