Bro. Kurt,

I believe that in Genesis chapter 5 where you will see the descendants of Adam listed you will also notice in verse 4 you will find that after Adam had his third son Seth Adam (notice "he" in this verse is speaking of Adam not Seth) went on to have more sons and daughters living an additional 800 years. Now Adam's sons would have eventually taken spouses from Adams later daughters the same way Cain must have considering he was banished to wonder away from the rest of the family after killing Abel (notice chapter 4 verse 16 where Cain dwelt in Nod which was not an actual place but a figure of speech for "living/wondering" east of Eden). Something that may be note worthy also is that it is widely held that Old Testament genealogies do not necessarily include each generation in mechanical detail. In some instances, what are said to be father and son may actually be grandfather and grandson, and an individual name may actually constitute an entire family clan. So there is also a great chance that many names could also have gone unmentioned especially females. These are just some theories from my own studies. I hope I've been of some help.

"Be Encouraged In The Lord"

Pastor Scott
