The Church is in fact full of imperfect people, hopefully that have at least some desire to live a life that is pleasing to God or, are in the process of seeking Him and learning more about Him. As Christians we make mistakes, we hurt people and need to grow up in a lot of areas of our life. We have all been hurt and most of us have hurt others along the way. I would rather it wasn't so, but to deny this truth would be a lie. Many, after developing the understanding that God is real, alive, and that He loves us in spite of our many shortfalls will use the same shortfalls that God extends His Grace to us about as reasons to quit, or fall away when we see them in other people.

You state that there are two kinds of Christians, there is also another type of Christian, one that seeks the Lord for direction and then rolls up his or her sleeves and begins to use his or her gifts and talants to gloify God and continues to seek and grow in Him as they do. I won't try to counsel you because you don't want to hear it. For myself, I have come to realize that people hurt people, but as for me, I am going to serve the Lord, with God's help I am going to serve Him and the people He put's in my path, and I'm not going to quit. When I mess up, I want to be willing to fess up. I'm not perfect and I'm not sure that it's even possible while I'm in this body, but in Him I'm OK because of His Grace and the price He paid for my sin on the cross. My hope is to see others as He see's them and with His help serve them the way He wants me to. My hope is to at least on some level live a life that is pleasing to Him. I won't try and tell you what you should or shouldn't do, rather I'm going to suggest that you consider asking God where it is He want's you to plug in and serve as you continue to grow in Him. As you put one foot in front of the other, and if you will submit to the authority God has put in place and use your gifts and talets to serve God and bring Him glory, I believe you will be amazed at the opportunities that He'll send your way.
