I agree with Wog's point, that belief in the Trinity is one of the essentials, but it is one of those things I just accept by faith. If you dissect each and every mystery of God, you can become skeptical. It defies man's logic to think of the virgin birth and the resurrection, too, but it is perfectly logical in God's realm. The trinity is one of the most misunderstood aspects of the Christian faith and can be argued as heatedly between Christians of different denominations as it is between believers and non-believers. To me it isn't difficult. The key is that each of the aspects--the Father, the Son, and the holy Ghost--are separate entities by themselves, but are comprised in one as well. When Jesus became the Christ, he became the same as God--so, in effect, he IS God. If you just remember that, it is easy to accept they are all as one.
