You said: " John could have been a lot more specific. He could/should have said "Jesus is the Word. The Word is God. The Word was with God in the Beginning. Jeuss is God. Jesus was with God in the Beginning." He doesn't say that though, he speaks obscurely if one accepts your interpretation."

According to the language and grammar of the period, that is precisely what John WAS saying. Anyone with knowledge of Koine (Common) Greek knows this. John was absolutely stating that Jesus is God. I suggest you get a copy of A Manual Grammar of The Greek New Testament by Greek scholars H.E. Dana, Thd., D.D.m and Julius R. Mantey, Thd., D.D. and read what they way regarding John 1:1 on pages 110, 140, 148. This book is the standard Greek Grammar textbook for the majority of Bible colleges and Seminaries. Another source you can look into are the works of Greek scholar Joseph Henry Thayer, a Unitarian who denied the Deity of Christ, but who was honest enough to state what the Koine Greek New Testament actually said, even though he did not believe it.
