Nah, I'm not that interested. I mean, I don't need to study Greek to see that a God that commands entire villages be wiped out isn't a God of love.

Hypocrisy ? Well, in another post I cited the Jimmy Swaggart episode.

Generally, I noted a very judgemental attitude and a kind of moralizing regarding the failings of non-Christians and Christians of the wrong type. But in terms of "within" the fold, the ready excuses of only human, Satan's handiwork and so forth. That someone when a good Christian failed it was the work of Satan, and when a non-Christian failed it was cuz he was worldly and loved evil. Stuff like that. You know ?

Or, this emphasis on how smoking & drinking are so terrible, and maybe fornication too. But in the meantime the church I went to was full of gossip, there were cliques and groups that were opposed to one another .. just like the Net. :)
