John 3:3-4
3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" (NKJ)

W> That's why the Bible terms the idea of being "born again". When you were born on this earth, you weren't born with full knowledge and full physical growth. You could not walk, talk, nor answer all of life's questions. In your growing you made and still do make errors. When you started to walk the first time you fell. Why? Because you were yet still weak. The same with knowledge. I'm sure you weren't one who got 100% on every test.
It is the same with being born again. The only thing different is God gives you 100% at the new birth, then it is us that works toward that mark. I personally believe I will still be learning into eternity because God is infinite. It is "definitely" different than the earthly life. God's Holy Spirit definitely indwells the true believer. The believer doesn't just feel God's presence, he "knows" God is present inside of him.

John 3:6-7
6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' (NKJ)
