More likely to be failure of the new Oil seal, it's quite common. Could be a faulty seal, maybe it didn't go in quite straight, or maybe the boss on the flywheel is worn ridged or rough (rusted), and that's ripped the lip of the new seal. Either way, it's Engine out & flywheel off to check.
