Hi -

I have a couple of very clean 1500 SP heads in the attic that I rebuilt over 10 years ago (new guides, valves & springs) and have never run since. One is original VW, one is a recon. I think the recon one may not have hardened valve seats fitted, so I'd be a bit dubious about using it on unleaded without having the seats checked out or changed for the genuine ones.

Only thing is - I've done a mild porting job on the heads so if you want to keep it 100% stock then it could be a problem esp. if you only use one head.
