The one pan dinner was a success Gilly! Mind you it took a bit of buggering about. I forgot that one of my diners (oldest son) was arriving an hour later than everybody else so I had to do a separate pan for him at the last minute.

The combination of honey, cider and mustard powder worked a treat. I'm not so sure the addition of the wee apples from my tree was a good idea though. They went a sort of dirty brown colour and I think I was the only one that ate them. Everything else was scoffed.

Have you noticed that the leeks turn a pale purple colour halfway through the cooking time? At the end that colour is gone and I'm wondering what chemistry is going on there. I might do some experiments.

Thanks for the recipe. I'll make it again. The camera was ready for photies but I forgot to use it when the time management issue threw me.

I did get the oatcakes recipe and I'll give it a go. I'm going to try them as an accompaniment to soup. Apparently that was the original way to enjoy them. Did you tell me that? Sounds interesting wherever I heard it from.

BB
