It was a biker, not a cyclist, he was parted from the motorbike (fortunate if it didn't land on him) and was thrown over the road. The holes are over a foot wide and a couple of inches deep. They had traffic lights up before the weekend and David thought that the work had all been completed but they had only done one side of the road, and not the worse holes on the other side.
