BB has a tape that the WeeYin put together for me of his songs and that I sent to BB as I have the songs on two records, one of the group he was with and one that he did on his own. His own record said that he was "the first to hear a robin sigh", which made Mam & I curl up with laughter, she took it out to the Netherlands for me as that was where I was living when he visited his own Mam, who lived in Bedford by then, and our grandad who was still alive and well in Blantyre, so I think Mam & Dad would have seen him as well as Bedford wasn't that far from home, but I last saw him just before he went to Canada, and I would only have been 18 or 19, and he was about 15 months older than me. He had never struck us as a sensitive soul but rather a tough nut, albeit a not very big and very skinny one, who could hold his own in the clubs and pubs in Glasgow when he played and sang there. He was always my big cuz even though he wasn't a lot taller than me, but he never let me forget that he was the elder!!!! Bless him.

Gilly
