Subject: The Kyrgyz Army

Seems I agreed a few weeks ago, (she just hit me with it yesterday, as is a female tactic) to having a party on Sunday. Roslan, the son of Raisa is graduating from the Kyrgy equivalent of Sandhurst on Saturday. Raisa is an old school pal of Sveta's, and is staying with us as she lives in the sticks, and needs to buy outfits and handbags and such. Roslan has been 4 years in training, and is now a superbly fit and educated young man. There will be a big parade with all the family and friends in attendance. It was Roslan that made our wedding DVD. Sveta has been his surrogate Mum for four years, and I suppose I was his Dad. His real Dad buggered off to Russia about 15 years ago, so I have to make the speeches and party for him and his mates.
You might remember the photo of my brother in Roslan's army jacket in -25C temperatures a while ago.
He has been coming here every week for 4 years, on his day off, and really is a fine young man. We're all so proud of him!
Big parade in the square on Saturday, and party on Sunday.
