Even in the winter there are beasties still around, especially in the trees, and they'll come snooking out of their crevices if there's pollen to be had, so I would imagine that it probably is insects that do the pollination. Nice photo though BB, bit like the picture on the side of Golden Syrup, where the bees are coming out of the lion's carcase (out of the strong comes forth sweetness). I must dig through my other photos though, as we have loads (not taken this year) because there are so many areas around here that have snowdrops. Our daffadowndillies are now coming into bloom, and once Sam's are in blossom I shall have to take a photo for him so he can admire them all the year round. BB, I'll also send you the one that Ani was talking about, loads of snow on the back of our cottage. I don't know if you'll be able to click on the link below, but it's the google street view of our cottage and the white thatched cottage next door has Sam sitting on his wall on the garden side, with Ernie over the road leaning on the wall having a chinwag.
