Sorry for the delay. I'm sorting out some photos. The baby is a boy, his name is Lucas and he weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces at birth, after a labour of more than 24 hours!

He's beautiful. I was holding him a few hours ago.

I don't know what to be called. My sons called my father Pa but it would be spooky to be called that since I so strongly associate the name with him. Maybe I'll let Lucas come up with a name. Mrs BB is Nana, the name my sons used for my mother.

This is so exciting. It's like having an important new job without having an interview or a job description. Make it up as you go along.

P.S. New-born babies are more flatulent than I remember them being. I think he's competing with the vuvuzelas on the telly.
