Oh, so you speculate that the baby within Darla is the same baby that Angel and Darla killed so long ago? That could be it. I just got the impression that the tv producers didn't want to show them killing the baby, but I do think that scene was supposed to foreshadow/allude to the next scene. In the flashback Angel asks Darla something like "is it going to be me or you that does it?" and then directly in the next scene we have Angel and Darla repeating this scene but in a different fashion. This time the baby under contention is theirs but again Darla is talking about who will get rid of their baby.
