I especially liked her (I'm assuming Shanna is female??) views on the baby's pure soul vs. Darla's jaded one.. I hadn't considered it exactly from that perspective before, very interesting!

I am definitely intrigued by Sahjan/Holtz. I'm gonna go out on a limb here *g* and agree Holtz is definitely a pawn, but what he does with that role is entirely a mystery so far. Though I can think of good "excuses," the fact that Holtz let Angel go after his *very* *first* chance to kill him grates a bit with me. It treads dangerously close to the well-worn, "Oh, well I'll just kill you *next* time I will!!" territory that makes me roll my eyes.. Hasn't gone there quite yet though, so there's still hope! ; )

Is anyone else dreading the potential for "Baby Bathroom Humor" to rear its head?? ; )

And boy were there ever emotional moments!! Heck, it's the first I can seem to remember for this season.. (But that's a whole 'nother VERY long rant.. *bweg*) The acting alone by every single player (especially DB and JB!) was just wonderful. My absolute favorite part was The Look on Angel's face as Darla's crumbling hand fell from his own.. THAT was the DB I was used to seeing dang it!! *g*

Dork!Angel was NO WHERE to be seen..
Crouching Cordelia, Hidden Angel was NO WHERE to be seen..

*Breaks out into song* Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!! (BTW, can you tell post-"Epiphany" Angel and.. well.. Cordy period are NOT my favorite people??? *veg*)

Definitely liked her breakdown of Darla Layers.. very interesting stuff there.

'Fraid I'm a very deeply rooted B/A 'shipper *g*, so I can't agree D/A is the deepest connection Angel has ever had.. Though I do freely admit D/A (D/A(us)) certainly do have an incredible connection and history, and it's easily my favorite of A:tS. =) I guess I just see D/A as a very different connection from B/A, and my biased little heart puts more weight on B/A ; ) I'll just never get over Angel returning from hundreds of years of torture in Hell with the *one* solid memory of Buffy's name! *G*

LMAO to Wes/Fred mind meld.. Too funny!

All in all, I thought this was a very good eppy.. (Obviously a few gripes here and there, but that's all they were.. relatively minor gripes) The only one of this season I've actually liked in fact! Let's hope *that* trend continues.. (Though there is overwhelming trepidation for the up-and-coming Cordy-centric "Birthday!" *sigh*) I'm actually excited for what's coming next (with regards to Angel/baby/Holtz-Sahjan at least), and I did think Darla received a good and **fitting** exit (takes a moment to *SOB!* and mourn.. Plus, there's always flashbacks! *g*). She wasn't redeemed after the day or so she spent really and truly under the influence of the baby's soul. *Cough**Hack**Spike**Cough* ; ) Since it was the baby's soul, and *not* in fact Darla's, she couldn't really and truly feel sorry.. The soul merely (as A:tS souls have always done) allowed her the opportunity to distinguish between right and wrong, and make a choice based on that distinction. I liked that very much. Loved the whole scene period.. =) We need more of them!

(Plus I have my own theories on the possible significance of the ending scene.. if you like, and if I have the time, I'll post them for you)

God it feels good to be posting about A:tS again!! *g*
