Her Private Life

There was nothing she wouldn’t do for you.
Used her death for your survival,
Let go so you could hang on,
Her endurance your drug,
You overdosed …
She expired.

And still she is your remedy.
Your medicine of choice,
Yet your ailment in disguise.
You deny hazardous,
But perilous
You better believe.

Your sickness she became.
She stained your cells
With her acerbic attitude.
Her pungent thoughts of you
Now branded
With the tattoo
Yin and yang,
Black and white…
So opposite of yourself you are.

False representation..
Your mirror is your hoax
You shattered it,
Screaming at the tricks it played
With your image.
Slamming it to the blood stained floor,
The last prank,
Never to play again.

Your exhaustion and fatigue
Never touched your resilience,
Couldn’t stop your persistence
Of infecting
Infesting
Invading
Ultimately occupying
Her private life…
