Subject: Dangerous people to avoid: The Cartwrights, the Ingalls, and Capt. Archer.-----This was indeed a very strange episode. Maybe when they ablated those little dudes from Archer's brain, they also will make him forget to be the cranky arse he has been this season.

Everything he does is base on his moral values and hate of some group. Before it was the Vulcans, now it's the Xindi. Enterprise would be better if it focus more on the interactions of the crew. That's why I love seeing T'Pol manipulate Tucker into having the neuropressure sessions. Knowing that the practice is suppose to be between bondmates leads to an interesting possibility that T'Pol remained on the enterprise since saying no to Koss was predicated on her feelings for Tucker. The neropressure treatments is her way of moving forward to a closer relationship.

[> [> [> I read somewhere that The character of the Captain was supposed to be more stubborn and strong minded compared to all the other Captains in previous ST shows. I'm not sure exactly why they chose to make him that way......but ( INSIDE) -- Computer Geek!, 02:19:45 11/11/03 Tue

I think it's cuz TPTB thought in order for the enterprise to survive the initial trial run ( since they were the first earth starship to go where no one has gone blah blah)They needed a Captain ( someone who was strong in his opinions) who would stand up to other Alien races that were constantly trying to keep Earth from succeeding with their mission. Anyways that's what I read. I think it was on the UPN.com website a long time ago before ST:Enterprise was even on the air.

[> [> [> This is what Startrek.com says about Archer's character. INSIDE.... -- Computer Geek!, 02:33:48 11/11/03 Tue

Jonathan Archer
Played by Scott Bakula

Psychological Profile: Report of Starfleet Medical/Counselor's Office

Charming, bold, a born explorer. Archer is guided by a core of human decency and intuition, even when they contravene direct orders. He is independent, yet has a strong sense of duty. Archer holds a grudge against the Vulcans, whom he blames for keeping humanity stuck on Earth, but must learn to cope with a Vulcan science officer. As captain of a starship his father helped build, Archer is eager to make history and see what's out there. The rest of the Article is on this site below....It is really long so I didn't feel like posting it but it's really good. Tells a lot about the character's background....So if you want to know why Archer is the way he is check it out! www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/ENT/character/1122628.html
