- Finally watched the last two weeks eps(but taped this week)! -- Frances, 06:32:34 01/31/02 Thu
I am really liking this show....moral dilemas, good character developement, nice pacing, and (drumroll, please)
good looking crew! Dr. Flox is much cooler that Nellix. I'm beginning to like Hoshi...at first, she was a whiner, but I'm coming around. Of course Trip & Archer have won me over, and T'Pol is getting points, just cuz she's Vulcan. But lose the spandex-would a highly evolved race need to display their "wares", I think not. Go for comfortable & show your sexiness from the inside. This being a much harder thing to do, for an actor, so they go for cheesecake. Or maybe the Vulcans evolved past this state in the next few years, because in the later ST's, this was so! Now I really what to know more about Reed! Tell me more about him...His voice/accent makes me drool.
What can they do with him.....obviously, he has closeness issues! We have a man who's father is pissed at him for joing Starfleet, not The Royal Navy, a mom who hasn't a clue, a self-involved best friend, and a sister who can't be bothered......weird.Typical dysfunctional family.
Work with me here!

- Pilot episode -- talon, 23:27:02 01/11/02 Fri
After watching the pilot again this week They mentioned that Vulcan female have an heighten sense of smell. It was funny when T'Pol went into Archer's quarters with Trip. Her head quickly snap in the direction of his dog. We all know dogs smell more then humans. then before she left the dog either had his front legs around one of her legs or was trying to get her attention. Needless to say she wasn't very please.
Then later we have the decontamination chamber scene. Trip was rubbing the cream all over her body At one point it looked like he might slip his hand further south then nessacary. But he did find her arousal point, the tips of her ears. As soon as she was starting to feel good about it she quickly broke away. She definitely like rubbing Trip down. and even got into rubbing his ears.

- Tonights Andorians in the Shrine ep -- PB, who is considering a new name like Archer-y or T'Peg or Tripsgirl, 21:15:59 01/02/02 Wed
Things I learned:
Early vulcans were not green like Spock
Vulcans smell like dust (according to the flirty Andorian)
Vulcans do not like the smell of humans
Vulcans must take some sort of nasal numbing agent so they can stand being around humans
The engineer finally got to blow something up (the big mask)

- Do Vulcans dream of electrical humans????? Doesn't one's olefactory sense deaded & adjusts to smells, after a few hours. So either T'Pol is yanking his chain or she is fighting the obvious---her hunter/gatherer instinct is working overtime in Trip's case. I wouldn't mind a ongoing romance between them. Just no UST & constant one night stands as in the old ST. It made them seem silly & shallow. Capt.Kirk, Riker, etc, etc & all those "space bimbos". Rarely, did they show a committed relationship, with it's ups & downs. Without someone dying a tragic death! (NT) -- Frances, 06:06:06 01/04/02 Fri
- I found it amusing that before T'Pol went down to the temple with Archer and Tucker she was giving them instructions, when she turned to Tucker she raised her voice as if to emphasize as if she was talking to a young male and said "Keep your hands to yourself, do not touch anything, do not disturb anything. I have been watching Enterprise since my lil bro decided to tape it. I thought it was an awesome show! Then, when my lil bro saw me on the IMan (www.imaniacs.org) bboard and Maeve's bboard, he wanted to know if there was an Enterprise bboard. I told him I would look and found this one, with a few familiar faces. :) I just wanted to make sure this has rules that are clean and such. I'll let you know what his name is so you can be prepared, errr, so you can welcome him! :)

Does anyone know if the fellow who sings the theme song also sings opera? To me they don't sound like they could be the same singer. Sorry if you have already discussed the performer doing the theme song. I lost the addy for this for a long time. hank you to Lost and Spacie for posting it at Maeve's.

- Tucker gets lucky -- talon, 00:01:20 12/20/01 Thu
Even though tonight's episode was a repeat it was very amusing. Seems that Commander Tucker is going to be the Will Riker of this crew. All the alien woman are going to be attracted to him and want to have his baby or should i say he have their baby.
T'Pol really went to town ragging Tucker about his encounter with the aliens. She had a lot of snide comments. Archer was just standing there trying to hold in the laughter as T'Pol went on and on. All Tucker could do is stand there and take the abuse like a school kid caught with hand in the cookie jar.
I think this episode is the start of lessen hostilities between Tucker and T'Pol. Where he's going to start listening more carefully to her when she gives advice on alien culture. Where he doesn't see her as the evil step child anymore. That she's one of the crew and interest in what's best for the crew not what's best for the vulcans.

- Hey, Found this info over at the Trek Today Board or whatever you call it...LOL! -- Lost and Spacie, 22:53:35 12/18/01 Tue
Ep Title: Silent Enemy
Ep # 112 (WHY do they always start numbering in the hundreds, anyway??????)
Orgininal Airdate: January 16, 2002
Written by: Andre Bormanis
Notes: Rumoured to feature an unknown ship trailing the Enterprise, not responding to any attempst to communicate. Completely outclassed, Archer orders the Enterprise to return to Jupiter to install the cannons that Starfleet was unable to install becasue of the ship's swift departure to Qo'nos. But even as the ship ruses back to Jupiter, Tucker and Reed work overtie to try and install the weapons themselves and get some kind of defense against the alien ship, which is continuing its stealth attacks.
Dominic Keating: "We've got one episode coming up, 'Silent Enemy,' where we kick some serious butt."
THEN The NEXT episode thing says:
Ep Title: Dear Doctor
Ep # 113
Orig. Airdate: 23 Jan 2002
Note: Features the first mention of the Ferengi.
Rumoured to feature the Enterprise encounering the planet Valakis, containing a pre-warp civilizaton inhabited by two alien races. The planet suffers from an unknown disease that is killing the population, and Captain Archer quickly agrees to help find a cure. But when the Aliens also ask for the secret of warp technology he is not so sure, and finally begins to realize the Vulcans may also have been right in not giving humans warp technology. Also rumoured to feature a romance for Dr. Phlox.
----------------
I don't know... Both of these sound KIND of like eps that have already aired.
I have NO idea if the info on this site is ANYTHING more then RUMOUR, or if ANY of the info is correct. It DOES say things like, "Rumoured to.... etc."
Anyway... just a few crumbs for the starving Enterprise fans... me being one of them. Perhaps we could DISCUSS???????

- Well, one thing I'm finding.... and perhaps this has been in ALL the ST shows and it is just dawning on me now... It SEEMS they keep rehashing (at least parts) of the same story. When I was retyping this over here, I kept thinking... This IS a new EP, right.... The part about the mysterious illnesss killing people on the planet? They've done that TWICE already. The cave people dieing for radiation, and the people on the planet that Archer smootched the woman on were dieing because of some "mysterious" ailment caused by the reactor thing..... MAN... The enterprise is the ST equivalent to Little Joe Cartright proposing marriage!!! LOL! ALSO... the above mentions something about a ship shadowing or stalking them... etc. They JUST DID THAT! The invisible ship guys that was hiding in their exhaust.. remember? GOSH... Am I being picky? I don't remember thinking this before. Oh well. I REALLY enjoy the show, no matter. - To answer your rhetorical question, ST (and I suppose other shows) assigns production numbers to each episode. TNG, Voyager and Enterprise each began with 101 (actually the 2-hour pilots were in the 720s). DS9 had to be different, though: its production numbers began with 401. There. More than anyone ever wanted to know!! BTW, when I was a kid, I memorized all the prod. #s for TNG :) (NT) -- Emily H., 16:32:34 12/20/01 Thu

THE CLASSIC
Enterprise
After years of buzz-free coasting, the Star Trek frnachise smartly returned to its roots and reinvigorated itself with UPN's enjoyable prequel, Enterprise. This unpretentious adventure series, set 100 years before the original, has the feel of a Western, as a crew of interstellar pioneers (led by the likable Scott Bakula) fumble their way into strange new worlds. Their heroics are rough around the edges in all the right ways.
It also has a picture from (I believe) a new ep we haven't seen yet. It shows Archer carrying - oh WHAT is her NAME! Smiley, the Vulcan woman. She appears to have a "hole" in her side. She is unconcious. There looks to be smoke or something in the room they are in. It shows the back of another character I can't id. Possible the weapons officer guy. It also shows the face (in the background) of what looks like to me to be a Vulcan guy. They APPEAR to be in some sort of wherehouse or barn.

- Enterprise -- talon, 00:22:50 11/30/01 Fri
I like the new show this season. They have a good cast of characters. I like the bond that is being created between Trip and T'Pol. Especially in the episode they intercept a letter to her. She shows some annoyance but appreciates having Trip to talk to. I think she like the idea of being expose to new ideas but also likes knowing more then the others. Giving advice on dealing with other species. I think she also likes the idea of expressing her opinions when in command positions but also excepting the captain's orders. But most of all I like it when she was talking to Trip about her wedding plans. About whether or not she should leave the enterprise or stay. Whether or not she should get married. That even though her culture is rich in tradition doesn't mean it is always right. That she has choices and it's up to her to make the choice not someone before her time. I think she really enjoys learning more about a new culture even though she can't stand the smell of humans.
The only thing so far I really don't like is Archer's self righteous moral outlook that his morals are better then others.

I really like this show-Action, Drama, Sex! Ok, no sex, but she wasn't a space bimbo! A step up for the ST universe! My only complaint & it a trival one, is that T'Pol didn't specifically wear her hair to cover her ears-Hoshi wore her hair in a manner that would have been perfect for T'Pol! Pick, Pick, Pick.....

- LOL! Great minds think alike! I thought that about the hair too! ANd YES -- in the grand tradition of James T. Kirk (who hasn't actually been born yet), Archer is NOT averse to a little fooling around with the alien babes! LOL! But yes -- SHE was a HUGE cut above the usual alien-sexual-interest-type person. - O.K. Since we are pick pick picking.... This was the one ep I didn't like. I think I addressed that to some extent below. Anyway, as far as the woman... I thought she was rediculous. She had ALL this ALIEN stuff happening around her. I mean, think about it, she hadn't seen anything like that before! Anyway, she BARELY reacted to it. That's what "I" was thinking, anyway. She was like, Ho Hum, I'm making out w/ a being from another planet, Ho Hum, they have weapons the likes of which I've never imagined, Ho Hum, there's a space ship hovering over my bean field, ho hum. That was my take. She reminded me of the "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful girl" in the movie w/ her husband she witnesses mass murder and she barely bats an eye. Uh.. that's all. Continue.... No security guy would stand by & let unknowns have access to the ship with out checks & balances. Plus Reed/Keating should have had a bigger role in this one as he is the goto security person. He is the one who should have been chasing Sulik at the end, and he would have got him!I know that this is SB's show, but...no captain/general/admiral would do that! It's official!
I love Trip!
He's really not what is usually my "type" -- but he is funny and smart and sincere and decent and real and I LIKE HIM!
And yes -- those Vulcans are really something, aren't they?
This was a great ep.
But while I understand the need for the humans to show the Vulcans that they have "some of age" or whatever -- I don't think the way Archer goes about it is terribly effective.
I'n not saying he should try to be less "human" -- not at all.......
But I think he could have been more ...... SOMETHING with that Vulcan Captain.
It's funny -- I adore Scott Bakula, but with every ep I find more and more to like and enjoy from every character except for his! "Archer" just is so vanill-pudding-balnd somehow --
And where was the doggie??!
LOL!
I think Porthos should have made an appearance at the dinner with the Vulcan!
LOL!

- Those darned emotional Vulcans--I never did get them. -- T'racy, 16:14:23 11/08/01 Thu
I LOVED tonight's ep. Methinks T'Pol has a crush on Trip! LOL!!
This ep really showed that--deny it as they might--Vulcans have plenty of emotion brewing under the surface. They try not to act on it, or show it, but it's definitely there.
T'Pol was clearly annoyed (an emotion), defensive, irritated, etc. at Trip. Archer even said something about watching himself when he went to see her, as if she'd be furious--an emotion. And why would she care if everyone knew her personal business if she really had no emotions?
Then there was that prejudiced Captain. Was it logical to be so rude and condescending? Talk about arrogance!
I've never--in all my 30 years of being an ST fan--quite understood how Vulcans can function without emotion, and I've never seen them as possessing absolutely none. I've decided they have plenty of emotion. They just like to pretend they don't. Why else would they need to go to sanctuaries to "purge" themselves of emotion, as in last week's ep?

All I can say is WOW! Tonight's ep. was terrific! Loved, loved, loved the snowman and the hysterical response to the fourth graders. Archer was less at ease addressing a bunch of fourth graders than he was with that reptillian Vulcan captian. The doctor was funny as always and can mention I again how great Trip is? Sanitation engineer! LOL! Shoes made from "waste" eeeeeeeewwwwwwwww! Shudder.
The best thing was Trip and T'Pol. They really were starting to "break the ice." I loved the scene with the pecan pie esp. because I had pecan pie and milk for dessert tonight. And the scene in her quarters was terrific. Subconconcious or not she wanted to be convinced to call off the wedding and she knew he would do it. Way to give T'Pol's character a little dimension and deepen her relationship with Trip. I am starting to actually like her.
All in all a great ep.!

Yeserday I tried to come here & Voy pops up a message saying there is not such forum!!!?? Same with BLA!!!And Maeve's was there-you couldn't post. Weirdness. It's those sneaky Vulcans, I am sure! Who knew Vulcan could be sneaky???And lie, and snatch blankets????They seriously need a Kolinnar(sp) retreat!!!! Now, we all need to release our inner demons, but those Andorians were pretty sexist! How come they were just harrassing T'Pol? Not the men? All she'd have to do is threaten to pop their antenna & they'd run for the hills! Whoops, bad phrasing. And do Vulcans threaten? Or is it too emotional. Maybe they state, dryly, that they will defend themselves, if neccesary! LOL Anyway I think any Andorian would have better luck with Trip or Archer, than one of the Vulcans....think Vulcan Nerve Pinch!

Hey I just got next week's TV Guide and one of their critics praised Enterprise! Fess up Michy you have been whispering in Matt Roush's ear haven't you? LOL! He likes Enterprise for all the same reasons you do - ie. it is a prequel, the characters aren't jaded etc. I was so happy that he liked it and encouraged people to watch. He even compared it to Farscape. High praise indeed. I like Enterprise alot but I don't think it is on the same plane as Farscape. That show blows me away with the caliber of its writing and acting. I do think that Enterprise has potential. It will just take some time and creative risks for it to be in Farscape's league.

This ep was pretty good.
I am lilking Trip more and more. Archer needs some work, though. I don't know --- I just am not warming up to him...OR T'Pol.
Spock had that eyebrow thing he did to kind of show what he was feeling without him having to show feelings....if you know what I mean. T'Pol comes across as a robot.
The Andorian's antennae were pretty cool. And rather creepy!

- I have to say that I liked this episode much better than last weeks. It seemed far more believable for me. I am starting to like Trip -- although he does have his annoying tendencies, or maybe it's just his general cynicism. (NT) -- Tess, 23:31:56 10/31/01 Wed
- LOL Michy! ITA about the antennae...I found myself watching ITS movements rather than the Andorian's faces! LOL! Very distracting... And as for Trip...I really like him too...the cynicism doesn't really bother me at all, LOL! As for Archer...I really don't know why...perhaps I'm comparing him to Picard...but he lacks that...I don't...aura of a leader??? Just a thought...As for T'Pol...well...I don't know...the way she jerked the blanket away from Archer seemed very unrobot-like! LOL! (NT) -- Canrane, 17:51:45 11/01/01 Thu
- ITA about Trip. I love his attitude. T'Pol's best scene's have actually been with him. They play off each other like Spock and Bones. Trip needs a line like the famous, "Dammit Jim, I'm a Doctor not a.... " And just once I want the Doctor to say, "He's dead John." LOL. ITA about Archer. S.B. is capable of a lot more. What Archer needs is some real angst. On Q.L. he was never better than the episode where Sam leaped home and tried to save his family from the bad things that were awaiting them. He needs something meaty like that to work with. It wouldn't hurt if Dean Stockwell guest starred either. They were terrific together. (NT) -- T'Karen (still holding out a little hope for Trip and T'Pol- potentially a great pair if the writing is good), 05:19:12 11/02/01 Fri
- My thoughts, too. I adore Trip. He's wonderful. He's the HUMAN human. I felt this way about McCoy, too, but Trip is hot into the bargain. He says the things I want to say! -- Tracy, 00:18:14 11/04/01 Sun
- ‘And all things Trek’ -- Pat, 09:09:22 10/25/01 Thu
Cannot contribute to the discussion on the new series but it does say ‘and all things Trek’
I really hope our TV channel’s PTB (in South Africa) buy this Star Trek as it sounds really good. I grew up with Captain Kirk so for me that version is still the best. I watched the one with Piccard a short while but was a bit of a let down. Voyager and DS9 I never watched but my daughter did and enjoyed. I never liked Janeway.
So I have to say that, like Lu, Captain Kirk was the best captain but I think that the new one may change my thinking as I like SB much more than WS. I think the original ST just had a wonderful cast and I liked them all, though Spock and the doctor were my favourites, and their interaction was great.
Still have one film on tape for nostalgic days (when they saved the whale population)

Where do we want the show to go? What areas do we want to see expanded upon???
I want an explanation of the delay the Vulcans put us through!
I want to see how we went from Eugenics War to now!
I want Randy Vasquez as a Vulcan!!! With his shirt torn ala
James T. Kirk! Or as any alien, but with the shirt thing going on. Or Archer, Trip, Mayweather, or that english guy w/o loads of clothing. I really think this should be a clothing-optional trip, don't you!
I want to see an explanation of why there are different Klingons. Waffle-headed vs. Non-brainac types-(I know why, I just want it used in an episode!)
More humor! More Space-babes(MALE!)More cohesive plots! More thought put into the situations,ie:Prime Directives, decontam protocol set in place & get the transporter up to snuff-it really helps plots move along!
Please chime in with what you want to see-Me, I'm stuck in 8th grade(more nude males, giggle!)
NO UST! Resolve it & move on!

First off, MichelleB, thank you for re-posting you MB address over at Maeve's -- I forgot to bookmark it when you first posted it.
I'm Tess. I live in the Twin Cities (that's in Minnesota -- do people know that? I'm never sure, so I always clarify.)
So far, I'm enjoying the show. I've never been a big Star Trek fan. At one point, I was watching the one with Patrick Stewart (Yoyager?) with an old boyfriend almost every night and one night we both said we had to quit watching this or we'd turn into fans.
I'm mostly in Enterprise because of Scott Bakula and last week's shower scene was great!!!

This was a fun episode! Some great acting, and a slightly goofy, but hot shower scene. Was Scott really doing his impression of "Spring Morn"?(My parents always teased us about running around semi-clothed, with that!)He was looking fine-Um-Um! He couldn't have had much on-maybe a banana patch or something! And Trip didn't look too bad in his BVD's! I'm liking that we're seeing more male beefcake, then female. Oh, and the story was good. Although I agree with Carane??? that why would they need Trip's help. It's like asking a model T worker from 1920 to help repair a Lamborghini! LOL

Some comments about last nights episode:
1) I liked it...not as amusing as last weeks, but, well...it sure beats doing Calculus homework, eh? LOL!
2) I really liked the "lost colony" idea...it captures that "frontier"/"exploration" feeling! Especially since I remember reading about something like this that DID happen in RL...I think it was in Virginia somewhere...it's in my old Child Craft books...it's the same thing though...it's even called the "Lost Colony"...the first colonists went out to set up an intial settlement, and when the second group came they found that the colonists were struggling...harsh climate, not enough food, disease (I think)...they send some people back to England for help...they come back and they're all gone! Everything was abandoned, no sign of disease or war or anything...whole town looked as if everyone was just at a town meeting or something...etc...no one ever really figured out what happened to them! But now they think that they just inter-married with the local Indians or something, because some of the nearby tribes had people whose names were kinda English...very fascinating story! But then again, I'm a sucker for mystery! LOL! Easter Island? Stone Henge? Bigfoot? Atlantis? Nazca Lines??? LOL! I'm there!
3) Well...actually, there isn't anything else...but I couldn't just leave it at 2)...it seems so..so...unfinished??? But now it is! So...
The End!

I know there aren't very many of us who post on this board yet, but one of you is bound to be creative (or at least more than me!)
I would really like to see an alternate ending-type fic for "Unexpected": What if Trip had had to carry the baby to full-term? It could be that the crew didn't find the Zirillians or that when they did find them, he was too far along to transfer the fetus, or some other scenario. His is an interesting character, and I would have loved to have seen his reactions if the story had been taken further.
I'd write it myself, but my hands are full with student teaching and a Voyager story I've been working on for 6 months. If you write such a story, or find one elsewhere, e-mail me.
(Hey -- Michelle -- Maybe everyone could write it together, a la JAGnik central round robins LOL)

Guess who just FINALLY saw her first episode of Enterprise???
Yup! That's right! Yours truly just discovered a channel that plays Enterprise at a time when no one else will fight me for the TV!!! Hee hee! On TUESDAY nights! How appropriate, eh? LOL!
Judging by what Emily said about the preview below, I *think* I may be getting the episode a day before you guys??? I think? This is the one where...oh...what's his name...(Tucker???) gets pregnant???
Anyway, I really liked it! It was kinda cute! (actually, I think HE is kinda cute! LOL!) and it was definitely amusing! LOL! But I guess I should wait for you guys to see the ep first before I pop my other questions, eh? Hmm...
btw, I need a little help with these names...it's the first episode I watched, and I *tried* to follow what you were talking about below...but...well...I ended up more confused that anything else! Cause now I'm wondering who this Malcom guy is!
The only one I know for sure is Archer! LOL! So...who's the Vulcan(?) chick??? (and oh yeah...where do the FIND these incredibly skinny people??? I swear, she turned sideways and I had to bring out my magnifying glasses to find her torso! LOL!) And the Chief Engineer guy? The one who gets pregnant (I *thought* this was "Trip" but I'm not sure!) And who's the doctor? And WHAT is he supposed to be?? (My ST knowledge runs only so far as recognizing Klingon's...and that's IT! LOL!) And who is that guy with the accent? I don't even know WHAT type of accent it is! And you talked about "Hoshi" is she the asian girl on the bridge?? And I *think* I know who Mayweather is now...sorta...
Anyway, I gotta go before I confuse myself any furthur!
Hope to talk to you all about Enterprise TOMORROW night! LOL!

Does no one on this ship read fiction! You never go out on a planet w/o masssive checks! Yellow flowers are da bomb! Read the Darkover series, read most scifi. It all starts with an idiot crew not following protocol & running into a situation that gets out of control. Many red shirts die & several characters you have come to love get ill/die, too!
It's so trite, that it was old when the first ST did it! Are there no rules on this ship on how not to mess up a planet,or even an away trip! What happened to the decon after this visit?
Enough already- I liked it.
No red shirts died(you notice there are NO redshirts! But new crewmembers are always suspect!)
I'm liking T'pol more-just alittle repressed drug reaction!
Trip was Tripping.... They got over their 'psycotic reaction' very swiftly. No hard feelings, embarrassment, whatever to mar the kissypoo atmosphere of ST! If I was T'Pol, I'd be very pissed off right now!Heads would roll!
OK-so I'm a bad Vulcan, but I have pretty hair, do you still hate me?

- Top 10 Things I Like About Enterprise -- Laura, 12:20:11 10/09/01 Tue
10) Archer's line when the Suliban chick changed appearance after she kissed him--"That's never happened before." Hee!9)The "phase pistols" look sooo Buck Rogers!
8) The stairs up from the little shuttlecraft are suspended by good old-fashioned chain!
7) Everything is so cramped-looking--I like the submarine atmosphere.
6) Archer telling T'Pol he wanted to knock her on her ass! Woo-hoo!
5) Malcolm Reed's sexy English accent (he sounds so much like Julian Bashir!).
4) The casual clothes--like Hoshi's red tank top from the premiere. They look like something we would wear, which makes this whole show seem so much more believable.
3) In Fight or Flight, Trip wanting so badly to visit the alien ship while Hoshi wasn't thrilled at all. Everybody reacts differently to the unknown, and it was nice to see that acknowledged.
2) The whole premise of ForF, where the Enterprise is so outclassed and needs the help of the aliens to survive. It's nice to have a real sense of danger about the show. There's nothing ho-hum about it!
1) "Tell him to shut up!"
"SHUT UP!"
I hereby declare Hoshi as my favorite character, whining and all. I think that the characters who have obvious flaws and foibles are the characters with the most to gain over the course of a series. We get to see them grow and learn and become better people. I'll take that over the seemingly-perfect heroes every time.

- Anyone else want to slap T'Pol?? -- Tracy, 23:25:58 10/10/01 Wed
If T'Pol doesn't soften up soon, I may be turning off on this show.
She is SO annoying. She doesn't like anything, or anyone. She doesn't even like exploration and discovery, which was Spock's passion. What good is she, and why is she qualified to be second in command when she doesn't see things at all like the Captain?
I would LOVE for the Engineer to grab her and kiss her and make her FEEL something. I hope they continue to up the sexual tension between them, but only if there are results somewhere down the line.

Okay there are going to be people (yes you Michy) who hate the following idea. What about T'Pol and Archer having some UST? I think I detected just wiff of it. Even without it they have great chemistry. I can only think that this comes from my curiosity over how Sarek and Amanda fell in love, got married, and had Spock. I always thought that one of the great untold stories of the original Trek. I think they could really do a terrific job of showing a blossoming romance between Archer and T'Pol. Naturally they won't. Archer will have a girl at every star and the potential will probably go untapped. I would just love to see it.

- No -- I'm not going to barf at that (but you KNOW how I feel about romantic angst! LOL!) But instead of Archer, who, as you have suggested, is likely to "get it on" with alien babes (LOL!) -- I think Trip is a more likely candidate. After all -- he and T'Pol REALLY don't get along (a prerequisite for romantic fireworks -- LOL -- I *love* a cliche! LOL!) -- and the two of THEM shared that little "gel" business. So, I say -- look to Trip and T-Pol for *something* -- but seriously -- I really really doubt that TPTB are going to go that route. How about the linguist and the doctor? LOLOLOL!!!!! - About the premier of Enterprise -- MichelleB, 17:41:36 09/30/01 Sun
I liked it.
I was predisposed to like it given as to how I have enjoyued Trek stuff for decades!
AND, I like Scott Bakula.
But it was interesting that while i think he's going to be great as Archer, it was the performances of the supporting cast taht I really enjoyed.
One thing that I found highly irritating about TNG and Voyager, was that EVERYONE on both those ships was some kind of GENIUS and knew EVERYTING about EVERYTHING.
I think I'm going to really like it that equipment is faulty, the crew (while brilliant folks) are excited AND a bit apprehensive about the unknown, and that the things are not so "ho-hum" as they often seemed to be on TNG.
I *MUST* make a comment about hte "gel" scene -- just how gratuitous and stupid could they have gotten?
It had to be applied? There couldn't have been some kind of "shower"-like something they stood under and got drenched by? And what about their faces and scalp? The "beasties" they may have picked up wouldn't be on their faces? LOL! But know we know that T'Pol and what's-his-name have great physiques. Wow -- what a surprise!
Bakula looked nifty in his underwear too.
I fully expect to see EVERYONE in the cast nearly-nude before the first season is over.
I'll pass on seeing the Doctor, thankyouvery much! LOL!
So -- what did you all think?

I loved her first scene in the premiere because she seemed so strong. Tonight she came off so weak. I know it was so she could eventually save the day but it bugged me. When Archer was motivating her and telling her to put space suit on it reminded me of all the times Kirk treated Uhura (and the other women)like children. I always hated that. Oh well I did think it was a good ep. overall.

Sure she see's it as the opportunity of a life time, but my take is she is not a trained Starfleet Officer equiped to deal w/ living and working on a Starship that is heading who knows where into who knows what, danger.
I really like the engineer guy. In fact. I just LOVE the characters on this show. EVERYONE is interesting. It's GREAT! LOL! Oh, and the beaglededogue! I have a beaglededoque. His name is Beauregarde. He USED to look like Porthos, til he got old and gray. LOL! And he is RIGHT not to feed that dog anymore cheese - unless they want to do warp nine w/out the engines! LOL! Oh my. What time is it? I need to skidaddle. Great idea, Michy. Fun board, great topic. I just know it will take off. Perhaps in Novemeber I will have a little more time to play here. LOL! No, I'm not threatening anyone! LOL! Later, gator!

- Archer's Eye color on Enterprise... did anyone else notice this -- PB, 15:26:33 10/01/01 Mon
Ok, noticing eye color and paint color on TV shows are some of my quirks. Did anyone else notice this. Archer had brown eyes as a child. Then when he grew up to be Scott Bakula, his eyes were green. Well you said we could nitpick! I liked the show. So far they re-run it on Satuday nights.

- CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your new message board. -- Perjoran (aka Cece), 20:04:30 09/30/01 Sun
Have a celebratory ice cream, Michelle. I didn't see the first ep...sod, but will probably catch it as husband O'mine likes the treks. I'm just posting today to wish you luck and success. Love the colour! Looks great. (Yes I KNOW there is no such planetary race as Perjorans!!)

- Michelle what's happened to the colour?? This morning it was white background, mauvey-ping responses and black messages (except Lu who managed to get clashing red.) Now the background is black, the responses are purple, the message is white, and Lu's red has turned to turquois!! Are you experimenting or is it just my pooter? -- Cece experiencing retina burn., 13:11:36 10/01/01 Mon

- Welcome! -- MichelleB, 16:29:30 09/30/01 Sun
Hello all!
And welcome to my first attempt at constructing a message board.
You will notice that I still have a lot to learn.
Perhaps Rosie, Katherine, adn anyone else with a clue will give me a hand.
This one should work very much the same as the others many of us are used to.
You will notice that one can use HTML in the "Name" field.
I will be asking Rosie about hosting an animated emoticon site of my own or perhaps, with her kind permission, STEALING form her! LOL!
I welcom input on how to make this forum more user-friendly.
So --
Tell your friends and your friend's friends and all and sundry that this Board is open!
Wednesday nights here --- Tuesdays -- YOU know where!

Nice work!
I loved "Enterprise"! And Scott sure does look good(in clothes and in his BVD's). 'Is that a english cucumber in
your shorts or are you just really glad to have another show' Bakula is a very versitle actor and has a lot of charm and presence to pull off another good performamce/series. I even like most of the characters, even the doctor, and dislike Gary Graham as a Vulcan(too many JAG stints). Boy, that scene in the decontamination room was too much. Amazing-they used showers in 2001 to decontaminate people-it covers more, faster. Those Vulcans have alot to answer for!

- To MichelleB on the Launch of Her New Board! -- Dancer, 21:12:09 09/30/01 Sun
This looks like a nice place to visit, Michelle. I only saw the premiere in pieces the other night, but am planning on watching the whole thing this evening in a re-broadcast.
Since many of your first posters are crossovers from "that other board," perhaps it is not out-of-place to mention "Capt. Ingels" as a Vulcan official.
Live Long and Prosper, Michelle!

Although I haven't had a chance to watch all of the premiere yet (funny some other tape keeps winding up in the VCR-LOL), I plan on keeping an eye on the newest Trek. So I'll be sure to visit here every so often as well.
