Picard may be the smartest. And I think Sisko could kick butt. But I am really liking Archer. But then, I've always liked Scott Bakula. I really did NOT like Janeway. And I thought Kirk was something of a cartoon. I liked him -- but he was just too "I am the great and fabulous babe-magnet Kirk". Archer comes across more like SIsko -- quietly sure of himself and terrifically competent without being "in your face" about it. Picard certainly proved how tough he was -- but to me, he came across as more cerebral. Probably because he was the only ST captain who stayed ont eht ship most of the time and let his ssecond do the away team jazz! LOL! -- Enterprise and All Things Trek

I would take Sisko in a fight, Picard to do an I.Q. test, Kirk to get the babe, and Archer to be the all around good guy. I do think Archer could be very good and he does have the handicap of not knowing what in the world he is facing next. The others all had some kind of info to help them out of situations, but Archer has none of that.
