I **love** the doggie! But let's remember folks that there ARE no protocols! No rule book -- except for the highly cautious Vulcan one that the humans are predisposed to want to toss. They don't trust the Vulcans. They *know* the Vulcans are keeping things from them --- technology, certainly --- but I think they expect that they're keeping OTHER things "secret" too. And the gel thing is, I think, for biological **organisms** --- NOT chemical substances that cuase weird reactions and even death. So, no decontamination.......either that, or they just don't plan on showing it all the time. I like it that they are still figuring out what is prudent and safe and what is TOO cautious and what is stupid. And I **love** the doggie! He is so adorable!!!! Almost as cute as Archer! -- Enterprise and All Things Trek
