I have a feeling that they have ARchger behave that way to underline his antagonism towards the Vulcans for "holding Earthlings back". I think that he still thinks (and he may be right) that while T'Pol *may* be warming up a teensy tiuny bit to the humans, she still may have her own agenda. Archer doesn't trust her. (well, even though I didn't really like this one much) So Archer COULD have sent out a probe, but it wouldn't have detected the pollen...THEN I would have been ok with what happened in that ep! LOL 's message, "Hi talon! ITA about Archer not taking T'Pol's advice seriously at times...the ep where they find that earth-like planet was a prime example...T'Pol made a good point that they should send down probes and such first before putting people down...but Archer totally overruled her...and in front of everyone else too...it wasn't so much the overruling as the WAY he did it...he didn't even CONSIDER her point for a moment! I can understand how they might find it hard to have to wait a week when such an exciting planet is right under their noses...BUT...Archer didn't even THINK about a compromise...they could sent out some probes to gather information, THEN put people out there...they might have detected the toxin in the pollen this way and saved each other a LOT of grief...but...then again, it wouldn't have made for much of an ep...LOL!" on 09:53:14 12/13/01 Thu
