(He had seen a lot of shit when he'd been in the navy.. bombings that had blown holes in a ship and men that had drowned while crying out for their mothers, or saying goodbye to their wives and children. He had seen men screaming for help while half their body had been blown off.. and he had become tough inside from the things he had seen. He had lost his childhood innocence and had become a quieter person, unwilling to fill precious time with wasted words.. no, he knew all about the hell that Braden was describing to him. The story he relaid so unfeelingly was exactly the sort of story that had made him fight harder in the war on terror, had made him accept his job at Delta so that he could oversee the continued assault. It struck him though, that he hadn't become bitter about things until he had seen the aftermath of Kyrian's torture and realized that it was personal to every man that went out there.. this wasn't a war fought by faceless people, it was fought by families and parents, men and women and children, all.. and the fact that Braden was so haunted had him thinking.. ) You saw a friend die.. that girl's brother. (He knew about Reese's arrival.. that she had been all but willed to Braden by her brother.. and that sort of trust made a lot of sense within Force Recon. A lot of things were starting to make sense to him, not the least of which was the reason why Braden remained so detached from the others, especially himself. He cleared his throat, nodding a little in understanding, compassion in his eyes, but not pity. Braden had known the sort of thing he could experience, and Remy felt for him for what he had lived through, but no agent wanted pity.) Thank you for telling me, Hunter.. I know it took a lot from you to do so, and everything you've told me is between us. I am not talking to you about this to file reports or put you psyche or anything.. I just need to know what I am dealing with when I send you out there.. and I hope you can understand that.)
