He nodded a little, dropping down on one knee before her where she was sitting on the sofa. His hand rested on her thigh as he looked at her, a pleading sort of calm in his eyes.) I know you don't think it's a big deal.. but if the pains are reoccuring we need to get you in.. we just can't play games with you being pregnant, Haylie. I'd never forgive myself if I relaxed about this and it turned out to be something requiring medical attention. (He had that dangerous sort of sniper's calm about him, reasoning with her even when he wanted to just pick her up and drag her downstairs this instant. He knew it would do him no good to play the caveman role in this game.. no, it was easier in the long run to just tell her how he was feeling on it and rely on her to either see his reason, or feel sorry for him and agree anyways.) And don't get mad at Shay for caring about you as much as I do. (He looked up at Shay, smiling in a conspiratory manner. When his gaze returned to Haylie, he squeezed her knee lightly.) Now will you come with me, please?
