Subject: Gray Scale buggy

When loading a jpeg ( or bmp ...) image saved as 256Gray Scale the software flags it with ifColor256.
This should not present a problem right it is just 256 Colors of Gray. However other programs correctly find it as 256GrayScale.

A big problem occurred when saving as Tiff. The newly saved file had some pink added to the pallete, also jpeg compression is not allowed.

Tracing the load problems stems from assuming the 8 bits per pixcel is ifColor256 and not ifGray256.
