Serious question since you're knowledgeable about cars. I crashed my 323 a few weeks back and need a bigger 6cyl to get my elderly mum about in. Don't want to spend a fortune but have looked at a couple of Verada's, Maximas and even Commodores (but they give me motion sickness). The best value/biggest depreciation seems to be the big old fords of the early 2000's. Basically, I want something that I'll get three/four years of service out of (I do little driving so the petrol prices aren't to big a concern). How solid are these things. I know you're a bit of a rap for some Fords so what's the word (I know, sight unseen) on a 4grand, low km's (130,000) one owner family with books that I've test driven and found handled/sounded/felt fairly solid. Or should I stick with looking for a Camry for an extra grand (bland and boring but reliable as Richmond finishing 9th)? Any thoughts appreciated, Steve.
