If Jake Niall's summary of the penalties in today's Age are correct, and they are not ambit claims, then they may be too harsh in my opinion.
Losing first two round draft picks for two years - that's brutal. Far worse than being excluded from this year's finals.
Based on the governance alone, Essendon needs a whack so no one else tries anything similar. But rooting them for a generation doesn't help the competition.
