So reliability is less important than "top quality fitout"?
So you'd rather have a driveline failure than trim that is "plasticky and feels/looks cheap"?
Because the German brands with just one exception (Benz) are all in the bottom half of most reliability surveys, such as the JD Power reliability survey. VW and BMW are often in the bottom six.
Benz has only really picked up its game again in the past seven years.
If you REALLY want quality you'd be buying Japanese. The Japanese left the Europeans for dead on quality decades ago. I'm not sure what the situation is like now, but when I worked at the Hun, Holden was ahead of the German brands in terms of reliability and durability. I was told this by an executive that had worked at both.
In terms of durability, Falcon has most things covered. For the same reason Benzes are taxis in Germany and Toyotas are taxis in Japan, well, you know...
So GT, GTS, Senator, F6. Christ, buy a dash mat.
As for "some level of uniqueness", Deej, your argument is an utter fail right there. You can get a VW or BMW in any country in the world you'd care to name. Doesn't seem particularly special to me.
