Subject: Christmas in July

yesterday and last night was the big "Christmas in July party" at Mush-aMush lake. What fun..all the cottage or property owners come-everyone brings something different in food"menu is planned ahead of time. Everyone brings one gift and goes home with one gift.Christmas tree is decorated and lit-only difference it is outdoors.Swimming, horseshoe and other games..one fun one is two rows of people-first person in each row starts pulling a real long thin rope down their blouse-next person pulls it up their pant leg and so on until one team has used up all the rope ahead of the other team.Relay races with marshmellow on a spoon racing to a bucket-team who fills their bucket first wins. All in all it was a great time.
I left the lake early this morn"7:30" so I can get ready for church..I take an elderly lady who has no friends to take her..she is rather crotchity "cranky" so friends and distant relatives won't bother with her..I don't mind her crankiness - poor soul never married..probably was cranky all her life-lol and her parents wrote out their will that her home which was theirs goes to a distant relative when she dies..and she always disliked these people..she could break the will but they put the home deed in the relitives name so it is out of her hands.Just another thing for the poor soul to be cranky about.Today is fellowship day after church-meaning a big feed in the Sunday School hall..that should make her day brighter-lol..not to mention that although I had a great feed at the party but I know I will enjoy some of the fellowship feed as well-lol..I love food darn it!!
We have been having some great weather and today is no exception.Have to take Ralston to the city tomorrow for a check-up on his knee replacement..he is doing fine from that and his gall bladder operation. He turned 72 on the 13th but has the body and movement of someone 82..let that be a lesson to you all to exercise by lots of activity..if you don't use it you lose it-lol
Happy days all!!!!!

What a great idea "Christmas in July". Sounds like it is packed full of fun and good company.

How kind of you to leave early in order to take an elderly lady to church. Even if she doesn't come right out to thank you I'm sure that you know that she really appreciates your kindness. God bless you for putting up with someone who seems so unhappy. The fellowship at Church and good food will give this unhappy soul something to look forward to. I know what you mean by enjoying food so much. I enjoy most every type of food. Seafood and pizza and Spanakopita (spinach pie) top my list of favorite foods. Michael (my ex) is tending to his garden. He planted large tomatoes, string beans, eggplant and some spices. I can't wait for the tomates from his garden.

We do not have any choir at church doing the summer months. Our church is planning a big festival in October with plenty of excellent food such as spinach pie, stuffed grapeleaves, shiskebab, baklava and pecan crescents. They also have raffle and tables of items for sale. They raise money for improvements needed for the church. We finally were able to get a parking lot last year which the church did not have in the past.

I am glad that your husband is doing well.

Have to sign off.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Take care.
