Subject: Hello, in 2005

Hi people, the very best to you all for this year, which started off (or the aftermath) so badly with the Asian tsunami. But I thought you might like to hear one little miracle story. When I heard the news something kept nagging at me about Thailand. I had the awful feeling that someone I knew had gone there for Xmas, but I just couldn't pin it down. Then I realised what it was. My good friend Cate's youngest brother John lives in Thailand, in Phuket, one of the worst hit areas there.
I straight away rang Cate to find out if their was news on John. Well, John and his Thai wife's house is up on a hill. John had been down on the beach, but left shortly before the tsunami hit, to walk up the hill home for something.
He left his motorbike down on the beach, and the waves washed it out to sea, then amazingly washed it back, and it was ultimately returned to John by a local who knew it was his! So John, his wife, and their house are safe.
Certainly makes you count your blessings.
Ellie.

Ellie,

Thank goodness that your friend's brother had left the beach and was spared from the terrible tragedy. Truly it was a miracle for him. I am glad that his wife and house are safe.

I have been reading the paper and watching stories of miracles on our "Good Morning America" t.v. station. It brings tears to hear about some of these people's miraculous outcomes.

Our hearts and prayers are with all those effected by this terrible disaster.

Yes, we should all count our blessings.

Thank you for sharing this with us.
Phyllis

Ellie it is so nice to hear from you and what a nice happening that all is well.Like you I was worried for the son of a friend and his Sri Lanka bride but then I found out they had moved 2 months ago to another area.
We are worried about Deepa a girl our church was sponsoring..80% of her area is gone so we are very worried that she is also gone..we came to love her through her pictures and letters these past few years.
Hopefully no more tragedy will befall the survivors, like illness.
How is your weather now? We are having a great winter so far..much better than last year.Is your area a large city or small area? I just live in a little village that is the hub between 3 towns..great place to be.Cities are nice as well ..I just like to know where to "picture" you-lol I always was a nosy soul-lol
