Subject: how is everyone?

It just 7:02 am here and the house is still hot..yesterday we had the hottest day on record for the past 40 years..34 cels.I was looking after Zoe who is now 9 yrs old and just graded into grade 4 with top marks. We went to a customer appreciation celebrations at a store..had three haywagon rides through the woods.pulled by 2 big horses....ice cream, hot dogs ,pop and balloons..all free.,then we went to the lake for the rest of the daym we really needed to be near water to cool off.My oldest granddaughter and her 16 year old brother came to the lake to cool off ,they are the 2 with cystic fibrosis, both are doing fine,MacKenzie at 16 passed his grade eleven by leading the class in marks, most cystic fibrosis children are extremely intelligent,,his sister at 26 is doing well health wise, once cf children were thought of as a mericle if they lived to be 12 years old. Thanks to modern medicine they have a better chance to keep their lungs clear now.
My dogs are enjoying a hard plastic swim pool to cool off in.
Phyllis-how is the baby doing? Have you got this heat wave there? Our Australian friends must have it cooler this time of year..it is a marvel how climates everywhere have changed these last few years..Ellie are you having an exciting time with all your interests? We were to an operetta Friday night in Lunenburg..it was wonderful and I was so glad Zoe was with us because she sings in the junior choir but this showed her how her voice could be her champion in other ways in her life.
How are everyones children doing..even the grown up ones..how is our nurse who went to England?
Our friend Dudo was always such a joy and now she must be too busy to join us but I keep hoping we will hear from her of at least one of her poems.
Bye for now all..Make good use of today because after all you are using a whole day of your life to do it in.

Hi Tina,

It sounds like you and Zoe had a fun day and were able to cool off. We have had very hot, humid weather here in New England and it is expected to last until the weekend.

I am glad that your oldest grandchildren are doing well. You must be very proud of MacKenzie.

Kaitlyn is doing well. She went for her 2 week check up and has grown from 19 l/2 inches to 21 inches. She is gaining some of her weight back as she lost weight in the hospital. They said they most babies lose 10% of their birth weight in the beginning. She is now up to 7 lbs & 7 ozs. My daughter is breast feeding her and she eats on demand. I have been going over every day for about 4 hours to help out. My daughter's husband is on paternity leave but will be returning to work in 2 more weeks. My daughter's twin brother is coming home to meet his niece on July 4th. He will be staying with me for a week. I plan to cook some of his favorite foods. He has not been home for since January 2004 as he lives out west.

My oldest son and his wife and my two granddaughter in Florida are busy. I miss seeing them and hope to take a trip to Florida this fall. It depends on whether my daughter here can take a few days off from work as I will be doing child care when she returns to work in September. Also I will need her to watch my dog.

Ellie you must be very busy and I hope you are having good weather for this time of the year.

I will write again soon but wish you a Happy Fourth of July. It is my youngest sister's birthday so we will be celebrating with a birthday party.

Phyllis
