Subject: re thought for today..

Ho.Tina I'll remember that when I feel tired and dispirited.
And your story about the sad elephant just about brought tears to my eyes. The good thing is though that I feel people are becoming more and more enlightened now about animals and their rights.
But a story here where I thought I was doing the right thing and I wasn't! Along my street is a house that was being entirely renovated. It was obvious that the owners were'nt in residence, but there was a very scruffy longhaired black cat that hung around the front fence every day mewing pitifully. I thought 'How could they? They've gone away and left their cat!" I also told a neighbour Bill. So every day as one or the other of us walked past we gave this cat some food. She was always there and seemed hungry. So a few days ago I stopped and put some cat kibbles on the grass for her, and a head popped out the front door and said 'Please don't feed the cat!"
Ooops! The lady explained that Yes, they had moved out while the house was being renovated, but they came back every day to feed the cat, and that she was 18 years old, which is why she looked bedraggled. I felt like a fool.. but the woman was really nice and said I was kind to have thought of feeding her, even though she wasn't abandoned as I'd thought!
Ellie.

This shows what a lovely person you are Ellie, you couldn't walk past an animal in need without doing something.
