Subject: January Birthdays..

There must be something about January.. my second son in Sydney has his birthday January 9th..Phyliss.. I hope you have a lovely time with your friends on yours.
I didn't say in my last mail, but my dear and longest time friend Ruth (we've been friends since I was 16 and she 18--- so that's QUITE a while!) was an expectant grandmother too, and her new baby grandaughter arrived just four hours after mine! Her son and d-in-law named their little one Ella.. a pretty name. They have a son,Jordan, 8, and had been trying for some time to have another baby, so joy all around.
Weather has been cooler since new years day.. I'm on holiday from work.. so it's been quiet but nice.. I've been reading, watching movies, meeting up with friends now and then for lunch or afternoon tea. Pleasant interludes.
