Subject: Florida Trip

Hi Ellie & Tina and any other readers.

I had a wonderful time visiting my son,daughter-in-law and granddaughters, Ariana (age 4), Athena (age 2) in Florida. It is about 3 hours flight time from the airport. We had a beautiful day as it was warm and clear outside. When we came back we found out we missed a storm. The temperature was freezing on our trip home.

While we were visiting we celebrated Ariana's 4th birthday. She had a large party with lots of children and parents. It was cold in Florida and I was told I must have brought the New England weather with me. It still was warm enough to have the birthday celebration in their fenced in back yard. My daughter-in-law had mini-cupcakes instead of a regular cake. I thought to myself, what a great idea. She didn't have to cut individual pieces and less waste. They also had a large puppet stand with curtains and the children could stand inside and play with the hand puppets.

I enjoyed playing games with my granddaughters and watching them in their activities. Their parents are big football fans and the children know their parents favorite teams.
I was sad to leave but I am hoping to visit them again next year.

My daughter took vacation time and enjoyed being home with her daughter. She also watched my dog while I was gone. I was happy to resume my care of Kaitlyn. She is crawling now and likes to play with her toys. She actual watches Baby Einstein DVD's and laughs and smile at them.

I have been reading your posting and will write again soon.

Tina,

I am sorry to hear about your son's MS and hope he will improve again.

Ellie,

Sorry to hear about your fall from the bus and am glad you are alright. Also am glad that the weather is a little cooler. It must be very hard without an air conditioner.

Take care and please keep up your postings. I look forward to reading about your adventures and activities.

Phyllis

Phyllis I am so glad you had a wonderful trip and it must be a nice surprise to see Kaitlyn crawling now.Children make life so full.
I haven't done anything too exciting lately except on cancer check up day in the city "they can't see anything wrong" so that is a good sign..after check-up Daughter Cynthia and granddaughter zoe and Karen,a friend and I went to a restaurant for fish and chips then to the largest playground in the city "by the ocean" it was a warm day..well you needed jackets on but there were so many people there walking dogs or playing with playground equipment" I acted like a kid and had 1/2 hours swing on the big swings..people dropping by were marvelling at the beautiful weather that day..then we went to a big sale that we read about in the newspaper while we were at the restaurant..I got a $106. dress for $5. unbelievable I know but true,4 pairs of tanjay slacks reg.$49 & $54 for $9 and $14. each and a lovely shirt blouse reg $54 for $9.came home feeling on top of the world-lol..Night before last we went to the "geisha" movie..wonderful movie if you have read the book first..three hour movie but not enough time to get all the deep feeling into it but if you read the book first it really inhances your feeling of the movie.
We still have had only one day that kids or anyone could ski or coast or build snowmen..really a record breaking warm winter but February may shock us because we are spoiled with the mild weather now but surely it can't last.Oh we have had the odd day here and there that was bitter cold but not many of those.
So glad you enjoyed your trip and are looking forward to next trip.
