Subject: A Dramatic Birthday picnic.

Hello All.. Well, the Saturday after my birthday my family aranged a picnic for me in a beautiful park called Warringal Park.. and the afternoon just went from one thing to another. Firstly my daughter-in-law lost the car keys after we arrived. Then we were thrown out of the rotunda ( 6 adults, 2 little babies, picnic baskets, rugs etc, as a wedding party had prebooked it) So.... we moved up onto the lawn under a huge oak tree and a ferocious thunderstorm came in and lightning hit the ground near our tree with a tremendous CRACK! So we hurriedly packed everything up and raced back to my son's house to finish the picnic.
Then the rain started, it poured down in torrents, cascading off the roof in solid sheets of water, and a down pipe broke and the water started pouring down inside the window of the baby's room, so we all rushed in to move things and mop up etc. After the rain eased off we finished eating, then as a last straw when I got home I found my lovely piece of birthday cake which was wrapped in foil in my bag was all squashed!
Certainly a birthday picnic to remember!
Tina, Hope you're feeling better from the flu now..lazy is fine!
Ellie.

Ellie,

I am so sorry to read about your birthday party woes.
It was so thoughtful of your family to plan a picnic at a beautiful site at the park.

Most important of all, everyone was safe from the lightning
storm. Also it was a good thing that you returned to your son's house because of the pipe that broke.

I wish you many days of sunshine and a happy, healthy year.

Phyllis

It is terrible of me to laugh but to be honest I just had to laugh to picture all these events happening in one day.
It sure would be grounds for a good comedy play.I do hope you never go through this ever again but you must admit you certainly had a day to remember.Love it!
I am better from my flu and getting back into the swing of things. The promise of spring is making me feel good as well.
