Subject: Everyone drifted away

Even though I was busy running around or soaking in the lake or ocean I always enjoyed a chance to check up on all of you..but seems as if everyone has jumped over to the new post..I don't like it as much as this place.
We seemed to be more like family here..well our fall weather is beginning with cold nights but still warm days..25 cels today.Ralston is going with me to a country music live show tonight-surprise.
Sad to loose favorite comedian John Ritter..don't know if you all got to see the "Threes company series" or not..and Johnny Cash ..but he was 71 and John Ritter was only 54..still sad to loose them both.They were great entertainers -each in his own right.
Hope all is going well for you all and for all the pets.

Hey Tina! I too wondered where everyone has been this week. We've been busy coping with colds, and then yesterday X had nits (discovered when I took her to get a haircut. Eeeeewwww!!!!). I'm still scratching, and we've treated the problem and washed all the bedding.

I was sad to hear about Johnny Cash too, although I don't really know who John Ritter was.

Oh.Kylie. I remember having nits when I was a kid, felt as tho my hair was about to crawl off my head! My stepmother doused my head in kerosene! It's effective, but what a dangerous and out dated practice! Good that we've progressed to something better these days. Hope the kids are getting over their colds, and good luck to J and X for their dancing comps.

pouring a glass of water with 1/4 cup of vinegar added over the hair after shampooing is a good preventative for nits.Some years ago we took 2 granddaughters "cousins to each other-not sisters"to a fancy restaurant with us..one was a bit taller than the other-one says in a loud voice"Grandma-Tammy has animals crawling in her hair-little tiny ones"
We made a hasty retreat and a trip to the drug store for a treatment.Her poor mom nearly had a fit..but children in school rarely escape at least one escapade with nits-lol
