Subject: A Question for Tina

Tina, I had a look at the Halifax area on a map - are you situated north, west or south of Halifax. It seems to be a lovely area.

Also, I thought the others may like to read about the storm in your area. I found a news article relating to it:

http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20030929.whurri0929/BNStory/National/

I don't know if that will work or not?

Also, did you have the storm in your area?

Cheers

We are just South of Halifax..Blockhouse may not be on your map but Mahone Bay should be-Mahone Bay and Blockhouse are right next to each other-if you sneeze while passing through Blockhouse you will be in Mahone Bay when your eyes open-lol.
The lovely "public gardens"which thousands of tourists visited every year-including myself-I visited it every year since I was a child-It is completely ruined-the most beautiful hundreds of years old trees are all gone and thousands of trees in point pleasant park are gone all this on top of the devestation in the streets.
People are being so nice to each other-those that have bar-b-ques are letting others use them for making meals..sadly a mother and 2 children died from a fire caused by candles besides the 3 people who died when trees fell on their cars at the start of the storm.I pray the have elect power by the week end-they have so many elect wires to restore.
A lot of people from our area plus the armed forces are helping to chop up the trees and haul them away.
Some countries are used to bad storms but we have never had anything like this before. We are situated in the middle of the places that were hardest hit and Blockhouse had no damage done-Mahone Bay had some shoreline damage-thats all.My haven-lake Mush a mush area had no damage either so my 35 ft trailer there is fine-thought it might upset.I want it for my family to share - the ones who do not have summer hide aways of their own.
Here it is 2nd day of Oct. and beautiful weather now again.
Everyone or most everyone has Dressed up characters in their yards to celebrate harvest moon and hallowe'en.You should see the Stuffed "people"and origional ideas of making funny scenes with them.it is so much fun.

Tina, I will go and have a look at my map, you certainly are on the most eastern area of Canada.
In the news report I read about the storm, one local lady said she had lived in Halifax for 54 years and the worst storm she had ever seen. So glad everyones pulling together and such a shame about the deaths as well.
Glad the caravan is okay and you weren't affected by it.

Ooh the "stuffed people" sounds great. In the Barossa Valley (wine production area - about one and a half hours from here) at harvest time, they do the same with "stuffed people" although it sounds as if your area is much more elaborate.
