Ha! Ha! Your friends house sounds like ours used to be, lots of pets at all times but now just one puppy and outside a stray cat that has been coming for food for 2 years now.You can't get near it,I don't know how it survives the cold every winter,a part of our garage has a roof with an open drive under concept,I have some boxes up on a shelf under the roof, perhaps the poor thing makes its home there.I tried to live trap it to take it to a shelter but it won't go near the trap, even for fish, I suspect it has been trapped before and knows not to go near it.
I think all schools will be closed today, our Jan thaw is over, started snowing yesterday afternoon, very fine snow, although it snowed most of the night we only got a few inches but supposed to get more today and it is a very slippery snow,Ellie you can liken it to trying to walk on spilled soap powder, very slippery. Phyllis may not have electric power today, by what I heard on the news, her area had a terrific storm, we just got the tail end of it.The storms in her area tend to come up the coast to our area,we also get some storms from our Canadian provinces but mostly we get them coming up from the USA. Thats what we get for being the most easterly province in Canada, and a tiny province at that.
It will not be fit for driving today so I will read and there are 2 people I should write letters to, they do not have computers.
We have leftovers in the refridge. suppose we should eat those up instead of doing more cooking.I used to find it easier to cook for the whole family than I do cooking for just the 2 of us.I always manage to cook too much.
Ellie I do hope you get a break in your hot weather.
Phyllis if you are reading this I hope you weathered the storm with no problems.

Hi Ellie & Tina,

We had quite the snowstorm with 10 inches. Luckily I did not have to travel, however I did have to shovel and went our 3 times to clean my car off. I needed to move my car out of the driveway so it could be plowed. I had to wait for my tenants who have 2 cars to move their cars out also.

There was no school yesterday and the traffic on our street was light. We have had six storms so far. They are predicting another one Thursday evening into Friday. One of the worse things is that it is icy in many spots and walking is not very safe.

Sorry Ellie that your weather is so hot and hope it will improve soon. I do not like hot, humid weather and always feel much more energized in the cooler weather.

It is hard to believe that we are already in the middle of January. I guess the older we get the faster time goes by.
Retirement is the greatest.

Wishing you both a good weekend and will look forward to hearing from you.
Phyllis
