Subject: Birthday come and gone..

Hello Ladies.Well, I had a birthday last Friday. It wasn't such a big deal as my O birthday last year when I had a party etc. My daughter, granddaughter and little great grand all went into the city together, looked around shops )book shops mainly!) then had lunch together so it was just a nice laid back sort of day, then on Sunday we went to a big local organic festival.. there were all sorts of organic fruits and veg, crafts, demonstrations and so on, so that was another pleasant day.
So, do I feel older.. perhaps I AM creaking a little more!
Weather is currently pleasant, actually I think we're starting with an early Autumn this year, leaves are already coloring, around a month early so maybe it means we will have an extra cold winter this year. Your drive out sounded beautiful Tina. All that lovely blue and white description..
Hugs
Ellie.

Happy belated birthday greeting! I wish you a good year with good health and fun activities.

It was nice that you celebrated with your daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter. As we celebrate another year, being with family is the best gift of all.

I just return from watching my granddaughter and received a phone call that the other sitter is still sick, so I will be watching her tomorrow also. That will be 3 days this week. We have also had to deal with a snowstorm yesterday and the snowbanks are so high that the driving isn't the best. We have broken our snow record this year.

I am glad that your weather is good Ellie.

Tina, you are probably getting more storms like us. I agree that the snow is pretty to look at especially when the trees are glistening and it is a winter wonderland from the inside of a warm house.

Wishing you both a good week.
Phyllis

Ellie your birthday activities sound like such cozy fun, family together is so wonderful, good for the blood pressure and heart-lol. Phyllis all your weather is coming this way this year.Nova Scotia was always known as having the hardest weather to predict because of our location it is hard for them to tell if we are going to get the weather from western/central Canada or if it is coming up the USA coast, it is a race as to which reaches us first.Well your area has won so far these past 2 months-lol
My youngest grandchild is 12 on the 5th of March, my oh my I wish I had a great grandchild but only one grandchild is married and so far nothing is happening there. My cousin is way younger than I am and she has 6 greatcrandchildren.I am jealous-lol
Another big snowstorm last night, don't think I will get out to church today.
My son that is 13 months younger than my twins will be 49 tomorrow-my how the years fly past.He and his wife have 2 girls in their 20s . the girls are not married yet.
Hubby and I did get out and splurged 3 times at restaurants last week.We had 2 gift certificates from christmas time, One for a restaurant in Western shore and one for one in Bridgewater, we still have one gift certificate left.We had Haddock au grotin "fish done in a wine cream sauce" at the one place- 12 mussels surrounded our dishes, since we are fish lovers we are going back for more of the same with our last gift certificate.
We had to do a big grocery shopping venture. We are well stocked with food again, fruits and greens we can pick up each week but I like to have cereals and all the other things stocked up. I hate lugging all the stuff in the house, we have a long hall before you get to the kitchen so I like to get it over with in one day.The house design was not made with old folks carrying groceries to the kitchen in mind-lol
My puppy will be a year old this Thursday, suppose I will have to call him a dog then, he is the size of a big cat and so very handsome and the funniest dog we ever had.
He lines up his toys in the living room, one stuffed cat is larger than he is,another is half his size, sometimes when he is tired he lays between them as if they were siblings.
He often wants to play "fetch" if you don't keep throwing
the toy he presents to you he will grab your arm if you are sitting, shoe if you are walking. There is no saying "no" to him.
Ellie I hope you will have nice fall weather and Phyllis I am wishing us spring weather very soon, like tomorrow-lol
Bye for now
