Subject: Hello!

Hello Tina and Phyliss, at last catching up again on a beautiful, sunny (but still cold) winter morning. This is our last month of winter, September starts our Spring (two of my sons have Sept bithdays LOL!) Daffodils and jonquils are already flowering in local gardens. At the moment both of my cats are sunning themselves on the balcony, sunshine has been a rare commodity lately.
So what have I been doing since recovering from the wretched flu? Well, my normal stuff, my gardening job one day a week, writing group, lots of written work, as I'm editor of the work newsletter, also Sec of our writing group, we had our annual general meeting last night. Have you noticed how no-one wants to go on committees??
Some family outings, and an 80th birthday party for a friend Tabitha. which was a really lovely happening.
Ladies, I think of you often. Tina, hope the pain stays at a manegeable level, and that your operation goes very well. Enjoy that swimming!
Phyliss.long days baby sitting, I know you will love it, but don't get too tired.
Wild life notes for Tina.. well, Phyliss too. Last week I was at my daughters place, she's not in the country, but rather outer suburbia, but many trees and and open grasslands around. A flock of about twenty white cockatoos landed in her front yard. We all went outside to look, and take photos. They weren't the white cockies with the big yellow crests, but a different sort, all white, with just a slash of bright pink feathers across their throats. I looked them up when I got home and found they are long beaked, or Eastern correllas. It's a privilege to see wildlife in its natural habit.
Have a good weekend.. keep well.

Cockatoos cost Two to three thousand dollars at the pet stores here-just think, you had a small fortune in your sights ! lol
Ahh you are starting the nice weather and we have to face winter and lose all the beautiful flowers and the pretty little hummingbirds ,robins etc. will be flying south leaving us with just the crows, bluejays,a few ducks will stay and very few others, seagulls are always at the ocean but even the big blue herons leave us.
Sept 3 for my surgery is coming closer but I have been "running around" every day.
One day last week my daughters and I played tourist and went to all the craft and art and gift shops in Chester "a near to us village" then ate at a fabulous restaurant. The next day we did the same thing in Lunenburg plus had a horse and buggy town tour. Yesterday I took my hubby and i to a parade in Western shore, it is so nice living as the hub between all these other places, makes us so near to all the events.
I am going to church this morning and perhaps to the lake this afternoon.Tomorrow I am invited by a sister-in-law to go to lunch with her.
I am glad to be busy, it keeps the mind occupied and off of
thinking of the future.
Have fun with your committees,Yes I have noticed how people avoid taking office on a committee and once you are on a committee or in office you seem to keep on getting elected year after year for the job.I have been there and done that.lol I must say I have no regrets and even feel a bit satisfied with myself.
Well ladies I must scram...have a great week.

Hi Gals,

I enjoyed reading about the natural wildlife in your area, Ellie. I love all creatures of nature and have a yearly membership in The National Wildlife Association, The Wildlife Trust Fund and The Humane Society of the United States.

I am glad that your Spring will be starting soon. Tina and myself will be thinking about winter before too long. Although Fall is a beautiful time of the year. I'm sure we both hope it will not be a winter like last year.

Tina, It is good that you are keeping busy and enjoying yourself. I enjoy going to gift shops and browsing around.
Also going out to eat is always a treat.

We are getting thundershowers right now and hopefully it will clear up as my sister was planning on coming for a visit. I spend most of the day with my daughter and granddaughters. Kaitlyn went to get a hair cut as her bangs were too long and her hair needed a trim and shape up. I enjoyed playing with her as I don't see her during the week. I will see her on the days that I watch Ashley as I will be there early in the morning and when her father's picks her up from preschool.

I have a retirement party to attend this month for one of my former bosses. She has worked for the state for 30 years and will be moving to South Carolina to be near her son and his wife.

Best wishes to you both and especially thinking of you Tina.

Phyllis
